UCSD Chamber Orchestra Director Geoffrey Gartner has pulls another wild hare concert from his hat. Clarinet soloist Robert Zelickman is featured as the orchestra performs music by Rossini as well as klezmer selections, followed by Manuel de Falia's ballet suite Love the Magician, which includes the famous ritual fire dance.
After intermission and a short cooling off period, you'll view the famed European art films Un Chien Andalou (Salvador Dali and Luis Bunuel) and Entr'acte (Rene Clair), with the Chamber Orchestra (under the direction of Geoffrey Gartner) performing Satie's scintillating score with Clair's film.
