Break out the chopsticks and roll out the sushi! Prepare sushi rice, learn new knife techniques with fish and veggies, plus get all the tricks to make gorgeous sushi rolls and many other out-of-the-ordinary treats. We'll have loads of different seafood including tuna, salmon, scallops and roe to play with. We will also have all kinds of maki rolls and lots of veggie choices, too. Mochi for dessert.

03/03/2018 - Cooking Class: DIY Miso Soup
Learn about the history of miso, its many different forms, and then make a large batch using various legumes. We will taste a one-year (or older) miso. You'll get to see the results of this long fermentation process. Then we'll enjoy one of the most popular miso dishes—homemade miso soup! You'll get to pack a mason jar full of miso to take home (but you'll have to wait a year to eat it).

01/20/2018 - DIY Kimchi Workshop
Learn how to make killer kimchi! Kimchi is an ancient Korean pickle (usually spicy), and there are hundreds of ways to make it. In this workshop we will explain fermentation and have a brief discussion about the benefits of making and eating fermented foods. We will teach you the history of the different styles of kimchi and then show you how easy it is to start making fermented foods for yourself at home. We'll demo some simple seasonal fermented recipes which are loaded with healthy probiotic bacteria. Sample a variety of fermented kimchis and make your own batch of spicy kimchi to take home and ferment, along with your own jars of sauerkraut.
