8:00 AM Norwegian Rosmaling Painting Event Rosemaling is a traditional Norwegian Folk art form of painting. We have two Gold Medal Winning Artists giving lessons over the three and a half day annual convention. Instructors are Jan Norsetter and Pam Rucinski. The unpainted wood and paints are provided, but you need to provide your own brushes, etc. (see list on our website). Recommended for people with at least beginner level experience in Rosemaling or Tole Painting.

10:00 AM Oceanside Dia de los Muertos Dia de los Muertos, or "Day of the Dead," is an all-day community event with diverse cultural traditions, remembering and honoring deceased loved ones.

Dia de los Muertos is a special event with diverse cultural traditions, remembering and honoring deceased loved ones. Over twenty-five-thousand attendees will enjoy the largest festival of its kind in San Diego County.

The Mission will come alive at this free family-friendly event with entertainment, carnival rides, altar displays and a classic car show! Your children will be entertained all day with a variety of craft activities and exciting carnival rides. You won't want to miss out on over 90 diverse vendors, traditional food, chalk cemetery, and the classic car show showcasing trunk altars put on by the Por Siempre Car Club.

Learn: We'll explain fermentation and have a brief discussion about the benefits of making and eating fermenting foods, and the history and different styles of kimchi

2:00 PM Sushi Festival San Diego Sushi Festival San Diego is aiming to set a world record this Fall and invites you to join us in making & eating history!

Created by renowned Sushi Chef Jeff Roberto of Sushi On A Roll (SOAR) and his closest Sushi Chef Masters, Sushi Festival San Diego is aiming to set a world record of most sushi pieces created in a 48-hour marathon! For 2 straight days, Sushi Chef Masters will aim to create 100,000 sushi pieces and you get to eat history with us in an All-You-Can-Eat Sushi Celebration - Get your tickets before they SELL OUT!

Proceeds from the event will support the Friends of Rollo nonprofit.

Sushi is a Japanese dish of prepared vinegared rice (sushi-meshi), usually with some sugar and salt, accompanying a variety of ingredients (ネタ neta), such as seafood, vegetables, and occasionally tropical fruits. Styles of sushi and its presentation vary widely, but the one key ingredient is "sushi rice", also referred to as shari (しゃり), or sumeshi (酢飯).

The 48-Hour Marathon to set a Guinesss World Record will be taken on by Sushi Chef Masters from across Southern California and will feature a ticketed VIP All-You-Can-Eat Sushi Experience on Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM at The Dana on Mission Bay. Featured fish will be fresh from local Port Partners and VIP products will be delivered from the world-famous Tsukiji Fish Market.

2:00 PM Lion Dance Workshop Are you thrilled by watching lion dance performances at Chinese New Years? Are you impressed by their energy and athleticism? Have you ever thought about trying out this ancient art for yourself? Come join TAP-SD and Lucky Lion Dancers as they prepare for the upcoming Chinese New Years performances. Learn more about the history of lion dance, its symbolism, and its current practices. The workshop will cover drills, footwork, instruments, and manipulation of the lion head. Workshop attendees will put on a brief skit at the end.
