5:30 PM Oceanside International Film Festival The Oceanside International Film Festival showcases features, documentaries, shorts, animation and student works along with workshops and after-parties.

Held every August, Oceanside International Film Festival officially kicks off a season of various annual film festivals conducted around San Diego county, which usually continue through the Fall. Established in 2009, OIFF is an opportunity for independent filmmakers to have their work screened and judged. It also gives film buffs a jump-start chance for viewing local and international films at a place in Southern California known for its rich history, beautiful beaches and artistic freedom. Film industry guests and audience members alike will appreciate the ocean-infused atmosphere surrounding the city, where the festival is held.

Located in the Northern-most part of San Diego county, and within a short drive from Los Angeles and Orange counties, Oceanside offers miles of sandy beaches ideal for sun-worshiping and surfing. Between screenings, movie aficionados will be able to visit the famous bungalow house featured in Top Gun (starring Tom Cruise), the California Surf Museum, the longest wooden pier on the western United States coastline, and downtown Oceanside all within walking distance from OIFF. Oceanside is also home to a harbor bustling with restaurants and entertainment, and to the historic Mission San Luis Rey, the largest building in California when completed in 1700's—and the most prosperous of the state's 21 missions, thus earning the name "King of the Missions."

8:00 PM Music: Los Tigres Del Norte The band was originally started as a family band, with Jorge Hernandez, his brothers and his cousins. They began recording music together when they moved to San Jose, California in the United States in the late 1960s with the help of a local record company, Discos Fama owned by Art Walker. They became a popular local band, and when they got permission to record a song they heard in Los Angeles, they found major success on both sides of the border. The release of "Contrabando y Traición" completely kicked off the band's international success as a Spanish language music group.

As a Norteño ensemble, the band has been able to realistically portray life in a manner that many people can relate to, whatever their language. Their songs touch upon topics like love, and struggle to survive, as well as incorporating topics like narcotics and immigration. Since their start, they have earned five Latin Grammy Awards and sold over 30 million record copies. They have toured all around the world and have even earned a reputation for playing encores that could last over an hour after the scheduled end of the show. In addition, they have recorded and released over a dozen records, not including Greatest Hits albums, and have been honored with a BMI Icon award by the BMI Latin Awards.
