5:00 PM French Cooking Class and Dinner Anthony Bourdain said Marseille is the most underrated destination, "A great city with great food and great views, sitting right on the edge of the blue Mediterranean, surrounded by freakin' Provence. It's got it all."

What to eat in Marseille isn't a simple question. It's not the typical Provencal city in France. It has many options for regional dishes and in this class we will learn how to make the following three course traditional Marseilles dishes. We will also learn more about this region and the history behind these dishes.

We will end the class by enjoying the "Summer in Marseille" inspired three-course dinner you made in a communal table. This is a great opportunity to further discuss the cooking techniques featured in the class or any questions you may have for Chef Marcel.

What Is Included:
- Hands on cooking instruction.
- Communal dining experience post class with Chef.
- Complimentary water/sparkling water.
- Two glasses of paired wine (White + Rose) from the Cassis region. (21 and up only)
- Take home recipe cards and information discussed during the class

7:00 PM Music: Yale Strom & Hot Pstromi Yale Strom, bandleader and violinist, composes and performs Jewish music, carrying on the tradition of writing original songs with Yiddish lyrics. Delve into the multicultural roots of American music with Puttin' Down Roots. This brand new Americana music series will fill the Lyric Court with music every Friday in July! Enjoy a different genre of live roots music each week. We'll have a food truck market, a cash bar, and a dance floor for those who can't resist the rhythm at each event.

Yale Strom, one of the world's leading ethnographer-artists of Klezmer and Roma music and history, has composed for theatre, film, radio, television and symphony orchestras. His current musical endeavor is his band Yale Strom & Hot Pstromi. The band consists of Elizabeth Schwartz as vocals, Fred Benedetti on guitar, Gunnar Biggs on contrabass, and Yale Strom himself on violin. Together, they play music from traditional klezmer to "new" Jewish jazz and have made fifteen recordings.
