Discussion: Who Wrote the Bible
Why do there appear to be two creation stories in Genesis? Why did Abraham ask Sarah to pretend to be his sister two different times? How many animals of each species did Noah bring onto the ark? These questions will lead us to consider the "Documentary Hypothesis," the scholarly assertion that the Torah is a compilation of separate sources. In this class, we will begin to untangle these sources and shed light on some of the Torah's most puzzling stories.
Dear readers, by press time we have been unable to confirm the details for this event. As such we are not sure what the cost is or even if the event is still happening. If or when we know more we will update this listing.

Book Signing: Crux by Jean Guerrero
Crux: A Cross-Border Memoir is a beautiful and haunting narrative about a daughter's quest to understand her charismatic, troubled and elusive father, a self-mythologizing Mexican immigrant who travels across continents and across the borders between imagination and reality; and spirituality and insanity fleeing real and invented persecutors. Guerrero magically conjures the complex relationships that define families and legacy, but also offers a timely and complex exploration of immigration and borders through a family history that crosses back and forth between Mexico and the United States.
