All Day San Diego County Fair The San Diego County Fair offers all of the deep-fried foods-on-a-stick, rides, animals and games you've experienced at other state and county fairs, but this fair is also known for world-class exhibits in fine art, photography, woodworking, jewelry/gems and minerals, home and hobby, and the Paul Ecke Jr. Flower & Garden Show...not to mention an unsurpassed view of the Pacific Ocean from the Ferris Wheel! The Toyota Summer Concert Series at the San Diego County Fair features nationally recognized entertainment every night; the entertainment lineup is usually announced in late March. With an additional eight stages located throughout the grounds, you're sure to find a band, dance troupe, DJ or comedian to suit your fancy!

This year's fair features numerous Latino performing artists and groups.

Admission/Cost: Free - $19 per day. Many discount packages and ticket deals can be found.

All Day San Diego International Fringe Festival The San Diego International Fringe Festival is designed to help provide a platform for artists while also helping the community as a whole—boosting arts and culture within the gorgeous City of San Diego.

During the festival, artists from across the United States—and from around the world—participate alongside homegrown talent in art forms spanning from theater, busking/street performance, cabaret, comedy, circus, dance, film, poetry, spoken word, puppetry, music, visual art, and design—and it is open to any other type of art-y-ness not listed.

Key to the operation of the San Diego International Fringe Festival is its role to support, encourage and facilitate producers, artists, presenters, venues and businesses. The festival works to ensure that artists and all participants involved have the best possible experience.

For independent artists, the San Diego International Fringe Festival is an inspirational environment to showcase their work.

Admission/Cost: $10 per show + $7 for a Fringe Tag, Required (Tags NOT required for our venues in Tijuana Mexico, or at Family Fringe, Nations of San Diego, Street Theatre, or FREE programming). Multi-show passes available.

5:00 PM Film: The Lion Winter The Lion in Winter is set during Christmas 1183, at King Henry II's château and primary residence in Chinon, Anjou, in the medieval Angevin Empire. Henry wants his youngest son (the future King John) to inherit his throne, while his estranged and imprisoned wife, Duchess Eleanor of Aquitaine—temporarily released from prison for the holidays—favors their oldest surviving son, the future King Richard "the Lionheart." Meanwhile, King Philip II of France, the son and successor of Louis VII of France (Eleanor's ex-husband) has given his half-sister Alais, Henry's current mistress, to the future heir, and demands either a wedding or the return of her dowry.

6:00 PM Film: Wild Strawberries Crotchety retired doctor Isak Borg (Victor Sjöström) travels from Stockholm to Lund, Sweden, with his pregnant and unhappy daughter-in-law, Marianne (Ingrid Thulin), in order to receive an honorary degree from his alma mater. Along the way, they encounter a series of hitchhikers, each of whom causes the elderly doctor to muse upon the pleasures and failures of his own life.

7:00 PM Stage: The King and I It is based on Margaret Landon's novel, Anna and the King of Siam (1944), which was derived from the memoirs of Anna Leonowens, governess to the children of King Mongkut of Siam in the early 1860s. The musical's plot relates the experiences of Anna, a British schoolteacher hired as part of the King's drive to modernize his country. The relationship between the King and Anna is marked by conflict through much of the piece, as well as by a love to which neither can admit.
