All Day Trinh Mai: That We Should Be Heirs Trinh Mai: That We Should Be Heirs That We Should Be Heirs encourages participants to engage in the lost art of letter writing as a method of alleviating burdens and promoting healing. By putting hand to paper and joining one another in this collective activity of personal letter writing, we can share in this intimate process of privately documenting the stories, hardships, and triumphs that connect us all. 10:00 AM Crafts, Culture & Native History As part of River Kids Discovery Days, the Santee Historical Society is hosting Crafts, Culture, & Native History: The Kumeyaay have lived along our San Diego River for at least 10,000 years. Come celebrate this important local history and learn about the traditions of Southern California Native Americans. Attendees will - Explore the Native American history of our region - Participate in hands-on activities - See basket weaving in action - Tour the historic Santee Barn - Indian Fry Bread will be available for sale - This event is hosted by the Santee Historical Society.

12:00 PM Mishima Ceramics Exhibit Entoten will hold an exhibition of Mishima tableware by Inoue Shigeru, one of the most popular contemporary Japanese potters from Tokoname Japan.

Mishima ceramics are created by brushing a thin layer of white slip onto the stamped or carved surface of the dark clay and scraping off the excess. They possess a restrained and earthy beauty that brings out the lovely colors of the food that they carry on to your dining table.

2:00 PM El Latino: Celebration Celebration of 30 years of El Latino San Diego!

Celebrating 30 years of fruitful achievements, El Latino Newspaper of San Diego will host a Family Celebration event at the beautiful Joan B. Kroc Theatre. The event will take place on Saturday, March 9th, with a show at 2pm and 8pm featuring "The New Mambo Kings"; a fast-paced and fascinating musical revue, with a blend of Latin Culture through voice, music and dance. On Friday This concert features the USD Mariachi Ensemble (aka Mariachi Toreros de USD) directed by Serafin Paredes and the best high school mariachi ensembles in the Southland and nationwide, competing to perform in the Professional Mariachi Showcase scheduled the following evening on March 9th.
