All Day San Diego Latino Film Festival Media Arts Center San Diego is gearing up for eleven fun-filled days of international cinema at the 24th edition of the San Diego Latino Film Festival taking place March 10-20, 2016 at AMC 18 Simon Fashion Valley Mall.

6:00 PM Lunafest Film Festival The Women's Center is partnering with a local Linda Vista organization (Animate-A-Way) for a second year in a row to bring the Lunafest Film Festival to USD!

Come celebrate short films made by, for, and about women. The films begin at 6 p.m. and then we will have dessert and a discussion at 8 p.m. All proceedes will go to the Breast Cancer Fund and to Animate-A-Way.

Tickets can be purchased at the Women's Center (SLP 420) or at the door on March 10.

7:00 PM Painting on Tap: The Art of East Asia Painting on Tap mixes creativity and San Diego craft beer in a relaxed, social atmosphere. Each workshop includes an exclusive, after-hours tour of an exhibition followed by an artist-taught project inspired by works on view. By the end of the evening, participates will have created a unique work of art.

7:00 PM Japanese Film: Kamome Shokudo Sachie, from Japan, opens the "Kamome Diner" in Helsinki, Finland. The specialty menu is Onigiri rice ball or o-musubi. However, the only customer day after day is a Finnish geeky anime enthusiast, Tommi. One day, two Japanese women, each with some personal issues, come to help at Sachie's diner. The number of customers gradually increases, but the diner seems to attract only those with problems. Conversation with Sachie and the tasty food seem to resolve people's woes.

Refreshments will be served.
