9:00 AM 32nd All Peoples Celebration The Alliance San Diego board of directors and staff would like to invite you to join us in honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the 32nd All Peoples Celebration.

This energizing event will take place on Monday, January 20, 2020 from 9 AM to 12 PM inside the Balboa Park Activity Center on the grounds of the beautiful Balboa Park. This year's theme is:

Our theme is a call to action to be heard by lifting our voices, be counted by participating in our democracy, and belong by creating a future where all of us can achieve our full potential in an environment of harmony, safety, equality, and justice.

In so doing, we create the Beloved Community that Dr. King envisioned.

You won't want to miss SeaWorld San Diego's one-of-a-kind Lunar New Year celebration, featuring an incredible Chinese acrobats show, local performers, and delicious culinary delights. Dig into the Asian-inspired offerings of Ramen, Lo Mein, Bao Buns, Dim Sum, rice dishes and more.

Cultural Note: The SeaWorld entertainment includes Japanese Taiko drumming. However, Japanese New Year, unlike many other Asian cultures and countries falls on January 1st. Japanese solar-lunar New Year calendar was only used during the Tenpō and Edo eras which lasted from 1830 to 1872. Five years into the Meiji era (1873) the first day of January became the official and cultural New Year's Day in Japan.

Worldbeat Cultural Center, located in Balboa Park, is celebrating the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr with a family festival. With live music, dancing, vegan food, an outdoor cultural arts & craft vendors marketplace, and more.

The celebration will feature multi-cultural performances and blessings. Including Native American Blessing, Danza Azteca, West African Dance, Afro-Cuban Percussion and Dance. There are also, Middle Eastern Belly Dance, Hip Hop Performance By Junkyard Dance Crew and more!
