Agogo is an Afro-Cuban/Brazilian drum and dance ensemble that celebrates both the music and dance traditions of Cuba and Brazil. Founder/Artistic Director/Choreographer/Professor Patriceann Mead and Music Director/Cuban Artist Silfredo La O Vigo create and present vibrant performances that will carry the audience on a journey leaving them exhilarated and wanting more. The repertoire consists of riveting choreography and musical arrangements that are inspired by tradition and represent the passion and diversity of the Afro-Cuban and Afro-Brazilian experience. From Agogo you can expect no less than a colorful myriad of sights and sounds, traditional dances fused with contemporary concepts of choreography, powerful percussionists, incredible dancers, and stunning costumes.
