A Talk on World Hunger with Kenro Oshidari

Discussions, Talks, Panels & Forums

The Worldview Project is both honored and excited to present a talk with the former Regional Director for Asia of the World Food Programme.  The WFP received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020 "for its efforts to combat hunger, for its contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict." Mr. Oshidari has helped (often directing) deliver food assistance to regions beset by armed conflicts or struck by natural disasters in Kosovo, Bosnia, Darfur (Sudan), North Korea, Afghanistan, the Phillipines, Cambodia and Japan (subsequent to the tsunami). On the Participant Observer magazine you can read more about Kenro by reading Doing the Right Thing on a Global Scale: The remarkable career of Kenro Oshidari.

After his talk, Kenro will answer viewer questions live.

We are also tremendously honored to be partnering on this talk with The San Diego United Nations Association, the USD Kroc School of Peace Studies, the San Diego World Affairs Council, the San Diego Diplomacy Council, Survivors of Torture International and Global San Diego.
