The Culinary Historians of San Diego present “Wining and Dining in Renaissance Europe,” by Barbara Baxter, via Zoom at 10:30 am PT June 19, 2021. This event is free and open to the public.
The Renaissance shed new light on many aspects of life including wining and dining, and banquet manners. Join us for this hour-long culinary and artistic journey from the Medieval Period to the Modern Age.

About Barbara Baxter
Since Ms. Baxter studied wine academically at the Sorbonne in Paris, she has continued her inquiry into the heritage of wine ever since. She has created visitor education programs for Francis Ford Coppola’s Rubicon Estate, and has worked at the prestigious Sterling Vineyards and Opus One, also making wine in Napa Valley. Barbara is the editor of Planet Wine, has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, and has lectured at the Getty Malibu, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Huntington Library, UCBerkeley, UCSanDiego, Athenaeum Arts & Music Library, La Jolla where she presides over their “Flicks on the Bricks,” their outdoor wine and movie festival.
