Il Generale Della Rovere
Captured by the Gestapo in war-torn Genoa, a swindler, Grimaldi (Vittorio De Sica), is forced to help his captors to identify members of the resistance by posing as Generale della Rovere, a leader of the resistance, who had just been shot by the Nazis. The movie features a magnetic performance by Vittorio De Sica as the who is enlisted to identify partisans.

This film launches the San Diego Italian Film Festival's "Italian Classic" film series. Other films in the series include: Ermano Olmi’s Il Posto (The Job, 1961), Abbandonata (Seduced and Abandoned, 1964) and Federico Fellini’s Amarcord (1973). Each film in the series will have a special introduction by one of SDIFF’s film experts. The San Diego Italian Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing Italian culture through film with San Diego audiences. All films in the series are subtitled in English.

Admission: $7.50 for general audiences, reduced prices for seniors and students.
