All Day Native Truth & Healing California Genocide Conference Four days of presentations, music, documentary films, and political action sessions offer attendees a chance to enhance knowledge of the California genocide and Indigenous peoples' history. Engage with others who want to learn more about these topics and come away with new understanding. Come together with the community to share ideas for resolutions that will be sent to state officials at the end of the conference.

9:30 AM Kumeyaay Community Garden Unveiling Ceremony Join us as we celebrate the public launch of UC San Diego's first Kumeyaay Community Garden!

This garden is a community space for all students, staff workers, and visitors.

It is intended to be a resource to learn about the many uses of native plants and learn about Kumeyaay culture. Free vegan food will be provided!

2:00 PM Stage: Cambodian Rock Band This play/rock concert thrusts us into the life of a young woman trying to piece together her family history thirty years after her father fled Cambodia. Featuring a cast that performs a mix of contemporary Dengue Fever hits and classic Cambodian oldies, playwright Lauren Yee brings to life the Cambodian rock scene of the ‘60s and ‘70s, a movement cut short by the Khmer Rouge’s brutal attempt to erase the music (and musicians) once and for all. A story about survivors, the resilient bond of family and the enduring power of music.

7:00 PM Comedy: George Lopez George Lopez's multi-faceted career encompasses television, film, standup comedy, and late-night television. Lopez is currently on his stand up comedy tour in arenas across the country. He also recently completed his standup comedy tour, The Comedy Get Down, with Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley, and Cedric the Entertainer. The comedians also debuted their BET scripted comedy series based on their tour. Lopez will next be seen in the film El Chicano, releasing on May 3rd alongside Raul Castillo, Aimee Garcia, and Emilio Rivera. He is also set to star in Walking With Herb opposite Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell. The faith-based film is inspired by Joe S. Bullock's novel of the same name. He recently wrapped shooting the upcoming crime thriller The Tax Collector with Shia LaBeouf and Lana Parrilla. David Ayer wrote the screenplay and directed the film.

7:30 PM Stage: Texas in Paris Join The American History Theater for their Fall production of Texas in Paris at White Box Live Arts in Liberty Station opening November 15! This musical, written by Alan Govenar and directed by our own Melissa Malloy, follows the story of two strangers, one black and one white, who have both been invited to sing in a concert series in Paris, France. Both from America's heartland, it takes being thrown together in a strange land for them to face their preconcptions head on. Texas in Paris is a metaphor for the dilemma of race that is currently dividing our nation. The music-spirituals, cowboy songs and country hymns-is a songbook of American life-everyday songs, lost and found, black and white, remembered and discovered as new. Get your tickets now!
