5:00 PM Ravioli Making Workshop In this pasta making workshop attendees will learn how to make the perfect type of pasta dough ideal for raviolis. We will also learn the distinction between hand formed pastas and extruded pastas. We will then begin our hand formed pasta education by making the dough, and then move onto the rolling phase where students will learn to roll the dough to desired thickness for ravioli. After filling the pasta, and forming the raviolis, we will get to taste all our hard work by enjoying a nice family meal together. Each student will still be able to take home fresh pasta as well as cooking and storing instructions. Each participant is encouraged to bring their own to go containers to take their pasta home with them at the end of the workshop.

6:00 PM Music: Choro das 3 Choros das 3 returns to San Diego! Choro (pronounced SHOH-roh) music emerged in 19th century Brazil. Employing syncopation and counterpoint it is a very lively music that is fanciful and fun. The word "Choro" means "cry" or "lament", but Choro music is delightfully upbeat.

Choro das 3 is a family-based band composed by three sisters: Corina (flutes), Lia (7 string acoustic guitar) and Elisa (mandolin, clarinet, banjo and piano) and their father Eduardo (pandeiro). They are both charming and astonishingly talented.

The band has performed in concerts and workshops all over Brazil, USA, Mexico and France.

This concert will be OUTSIDE, please dress accordingly.

Come join us at 6:00 PM for a pre-concert reception.

8:00 PM Stage: Romeo and Juliet After his smash-hit Othello and record-breaking Hamlet, Barry Edelstein returns to the Shakespeare Festival to take on the greatest love story of all time. Verona's Montague and Capulet families have been feuding for ages, and whenever they meet, violence breaks out. But when Romeo glimpses Juliet across a crowded dance floor, something different happens. Can star-crossed love survive in a world of rivalry and rage? With a plot featuring a masqued ball, sleeping potions, and
all-out brawling in the street, wrapped in a text full of soaring poetry, it's no wonder Romeo and Juliet has inspired countless adaptations, from ballets to movies to musicals like West Side Story. Young love has never been as dangerous or delightful as it is in Shakespeare's romantic masterpiece, brought to vivid life on our outdoor stage under the stars.
