1:00 PM Film: Window Horses Digital Gym Cinema presents a screening of "'Window Horses: The Poetic Persian Epiphany Of Rosie Ming," an animated film featuring the voice work of Oscar nominees Shohreh Aghdashloo, Ellen Page, and Sandra Oh.

Rosie Ming, a young Canadian poet, is invited to perform at a poetry festival in Shiraz, Iran, but she'd rather go to Paris. She lives at home with her over-protective Chinese grandparents and has never been anywhere by herself. Once in Iran, she finds herself in the company of poets and Persians who tell her stories that force her to confront her past: the Iranian father she assumed abandoned her and the nature of poetry itself.

The film is about building bridges between cultural and generational divides. It's about being curious. Staying open. And finding your own voice through the magic of poetry.

4:00 PM Stage: Cinderella Eats Rice & Beans: A Salsa Fairy Tale New Village Arts and Teatro Pueblo Nuevo present "Cinderella Eats Rice & Beans: A Salsa Fairy Tale," a bilingual, athletic twist on the classic Cinderella story.

What will happen to Cinderella at the ball game? That's the surprising climactic question in this contemporary Latin-American musical. Cinderella, a newcomer from Puerto Rico, comes to visit her stepsister, Rosa, in the United States.

The catch:
Cinderella speaks only Spanish and Rosa speaks only English. Will these two girls be able to reach an understanding at the [basket] ball game?

This groundbreaking bilingual children's musical is from the award-winning team of playwright Karen Zacarías and composer Deborah Wicks la Puma. Admission is free but donations are welcome.
