4:00 PM United States Engagments In the Americas The Americas continue to be at a threshold of driving forward sustainable economic growth and prosperity against a backdrop of rapidly evolving approaches to trade and investment through trade liberalization and the emergence of new global, often 'non-traditional' investment partners.

Meanwhile, consolidating democracy, combating inequality, corruption and security challenges remain key areas for hemispheric collaboration and collective action. Indeed, these topics will also be central themes at the next Summit of the Americas being held in Lima, Peru in April 2018.
The policy choices which countries face demand attention and support from partners - public and private - from across the Americas. U.S. engagement in the region continues to be key.

Germany, 1925, Martin Heidegger is a professor of philosophy at Marburg University. His student, Hannah Arendt is fascinated by his brilliance. In this defeated country, Nazi idealism is gaining ground. Hannah, a Jew, is scared and repulsed by Hitler's ascent. Martin believes this political movement can bring about Germany's revival and compromises himself with the Nazis, for a while. Despite this divergence between them, the lovers continue to see each other. From 1925 to 1950, we witness five encounters of these two gifted thinkers of the twentieth century, revealing their passionate and tumultuous relationship.
