12:00 PM Food: Festival de Chile en Nogada Chiles en nogada is a dish, traditionally served at room temperature with cold cream sauce, from Mexican cuisine. The name comes from the Spanish word for the nut tree, nogal. It consists of poblano chilis filled with picadillo (a mixture usually containing shredded meat, aromatics, fruits and spices) topped with a walnut-based cream sauce, called nogada, and pomegranate seeds, giving it the three colors of the Mexican flag: green from the chili, white from the nut sauce and red from the pomegranate. The walnut used to prepare nogada is a cultivar called Nogal de Castilla or Castillan walnut.

The traditional chile en nogada is from Puebla; it is tied to the independence of this country since it is said they were prepared for the first time to entertain the future emperor Agustín de Iturbide when he came to the city after the signing of the Treaty of Córdoba. This dish is a source of pride for the inhabitants of the state of Puebla.

Festival Del Chile en Nogada invites you to join them for their 9th edition of the Chile en Nogada festival at the Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT).

Aside from Chile en Nogada you will be able to try different Mexican dishes, purchase art work, and the children will be able play in a designated play area.

3:00 PM *Stage: Avenue Q Avenue Q tells the story of Princeton, a recent college grad, who moves to run-down Avenue Q in New York. There, he befriends an eclectic group of humans, puppets and monsters, and learns the life lessons that children's television never would have thought to explore.

With hummable songs like "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" and "The Internet is for Porn," this show promises off-color laughs and outrageous moments, but it has also warmed audiences' hearts with its lovable and unique cast of characters.

Note: Avenue Q might be inappropriate for young audiences due to mature themes and language.
