8:00 AM Pacific Islander Festival 2017 PIFA is hosting its 23rd annual Pacific Islander Festival at Mission Bay ~ Ski Beach. PIFA has over 100 booths, from craft/cultural villages, retail, information and everyone's favorite, "Food!" So come on out and bring your families and friends and join in on the fun the "Island Way!" We look forward to seeing you all there.

The primary purposes and objectives of the Pacific Islander Festival Association shall be:

(a) To promote charitable and educational projects for the benefit of everyone, but with emphasis on the Indigenous People of Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia.

10:00 AM San Diego Bonsai Club Show The San Diego Bonsai Club is holding their annual Fall Exhibition and Sale on September 23 and 24, in the historic Casa del Prado, room 101 in Balboa Park.

Starting at 10 a.m. and going until 5 p.m., on both days, amazing bonsai will be on display. There will be bonsai technique demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Bonsai of varying sizes and species as well as other bonsai-related items will be for sale by club members at attractive prices.

12:30 PM International Harvest Festival International Harvest Dance Festival is a 2-day dance event (Sept 23-24, 2017) that is hosted by the five international folk dance clubs belonging to the International Dance Association of San Diego County (IDASDC). The festival will be held at the Balboa Park club (located behind the international cottages in Balboa Park) from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both days.

The event is FREE and features free dance lessons, dance performances, folk arts and craft vendors plus food and beverages will be offered at reasonable prices in the outer lobby. A partner is not needed to participate in the dance lessons. This is a family friendly event.
