All Day San Diego Jewish Film Festival The 28th Annual San Diego Jewish Film Festival runs February 8-18. The 11-day event is the largest Jewish cultural event in San Diego and draws over 17,000 attendees annually to more than 70 screenings. Features San Diego film premieres, international guest filmmakers, and juried and audience choice awards. Screenings will be shown at five locations. This year the festival will showcase a total of 58 films of the best contemporary Jewish-themed films from around the world celebrating life, human rights and freedom of expression.

Admission/Cost: $12.25 - $15.25, Festival pass $275

5:00 PM Lunar New Year Tet Festival The Little Saigon San Diego Foundation is excited to announce the return of its flagship event. The Lunar New Year is an important Asian holiday that has been celebrated for thousands of years throughout the world—especially in Asia. 2018 marks the Year of the Dog, a modest and loyal animal that represents honesty, intelligence and reliability.

The San Diego Lunar New Year Festival attracts over 32,000 guests from across San Diego County and offers a fusion of Asian food stations, unique vendor booths, carnival rides, non-stop live entertainment (including lion dances, concerts and bands such as Heartbreaka GeeQ and Remj Michael Jackson) as well as a cultural village featuring artistic reconstructions of iconic sculptures, buildings and landscapes from across South East Asia.

Be enchanted by a collection of short piano pieces that Jan chose for this special event, which he will perform for you on the incomparable ambassador of Viennese piano tradition: the Bösendorfer. 8:00 PM Film: I Am Cuba "I am Cuba" is a Soviet propaganda film that had been rediscovered and restored in the 1990s, with the support of Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola, due to the startling lyricism of its cinematography.

This film (Cuba, 1964. Not rated; recommended for mature audiences) is a part of the Latin American Film Series, a presentation of five films that bring to life characters, stories, issues and themes portrayed or evoked in "Modern Masters from Latin America: The Pérez Simón Collection."
